Organised by Maidstone Area Arts Partnership and funded by Maidstone Council, this year’s Brenchley Gardens concerts featured four bands of completely different styles on four successive Sunday afternoons. BAE Systems Brass Band were delighted to perform a varied and entertaining programme to a large and appreciative audience on a warm, dry afternoon in this lovely setting. Opening with Prismatic Light, the programme featured 3 soloists and a solo cornet quartet as well as items from different genres including original brass compositions, musicals, films and pop music through the years.

A considerable number of the audience approached band members during the interval and at the end to comment on the high quality of the playing and entertainment value of the programme with one lady later taking the trouble to email her thoughts:
‘I Just wanted to convey our sincere thanks for a lovely afternoon today (Sunday) at Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone . The music was wonderful and the weather was kind to us too.
